My Story

I grew up as an overweight kid who hated gym class and as a young adult who struggled with body image and self-esteem issues. My weight fluctuated dramatically as I tried a number of different diets in my late teens and early 20's until I realized that I didn't need to be athletic to get fit and that my self-worth was not based on my body size. I began walking an hour a day and then discovered yoga which really encouraged me to be kind to my body by exercising and eating right. Walking also really helped lower my stress level. I eventually found that I was no longer obsessing about food, and the weight naturally came off. My health coaching training provided me with expert knowledge on how the way we live, exercise, think, and eat impacts our health, and how to better care for our bodies and minds. I am passionate about sharing what I’ve learned through the  Dr. Sears’ Health Coaching program with others.

A Dr. Sears Health Coach

Jill received her Health Coach Certification from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute, founded by world-renowned physician and author, Dr. William Sears. The Institute is a leader in science-based health and wellness education that focuses on the four pillars of health: Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude, and Nutrition (L.E.A.N.). A certification by the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute is obtained only after completing the extensive course work and meeting all requirements. Once certified, a Health Coach possesses the knowledge, tools, and resources to make a positive difference in the health of others.
